Ripped, Shredded, and Ready to Go
by Scott Thomas Outlar

Let there be
torn jeans
or no jeans at all –
Let there be
a harvest
born in fire
that consumes everything –
Let there be
dust
and ash
and dust
and ash
forever
in perpetuity –
Let there be
a feast
followed
by a fast –
Let there be a high wave
taken as far
as it will travel –
Let there be a soft crash
onto sand
upon the shoreline –
Let it all dance –
Let it all die –
Let it all scream –
Let it all go silent –
Let it all play out
like it always does
one moment
at a time –
