We are alike, yet not the same
we glow in golden skins with red-orange highlights
we bask in our curvy, pear-like shapes
we share a flavor profile—juicy, floral
we are compatible: “pair well with cheese”
we fear remaining in the tray at closing...
___rejected, alone

I hope to shine, to be the chosen one,
yet I fear the Tarte Flambé
