AIR CONDITIONING
by Diane Webster

Vent louvers stare
in sleepy awareness
of each person’s presence
or glare openly
as to why you’re nearby
like a cat ruminating on a mouse
attempting run/hide tactics
only to endure the pounce
punch air out in a gust
like louvers directing wind
according to owner’s wishes.
