Shower
by Marilyn Westfall

Relieved
of her port—
incisions pink
but healing—
she closed
her eyes
& eased
by steam
smiled
as drizzle
cleansed
her budding
scalp—
like rain
on grass—
& swayed
as flow
caressed
the firming
flesh
of her one
healthy
breast.
