Turquoise
by Shubh Bala Schiesser

Turquoise arose from Indigo
Indigo from Violet
Violet from teal
A blend of Blue- green
Aqua Azure and Aquamarine

Turquoise lines the water and sky
Where Krishna dances
Around the Azure Yamuna river
A peacock feather tied on his blue forehead

When he breathes into his flute
Beads of Turquoise and Lapis
Enchant the Gopies
Like I was charmed by
The turquoise pin
In my mother's nose

In my dreams deep ultramarine lakes
Turn from blue to green
And Turquoise fish
Swims upside down
